Between 5 to 10 days, macrophages clear necrotic tissue through phagocytosis. Around 10 to 14 days, granulation tissue forms, and new blood vessels (neovascularization) begin to grow. From 2 weeks to 2 months, collagen is deposited, leading to scar tissue formation, which replaces the damaged myocardium.
